iFixit’s Program Manager is responsible for our main website, The PM helps shape the direction of new features, prioritizes projects and bugfixes, and interfaces with other departments. A deep technical background in our exact stack isn’t strictly necessary, but the more familiar you are with modern web app development the better.

This role may have one or more direct reports. Experience managing engineers is a plus.



  • Drive strategic cross-functional planning, leading discovery and prioritization by closely partnering with technical and non-technical stakeholders to develop program plans, including roadmap, dependency identifications and resourcing plans.
  • Define and advocate for your program ideas, especially initiatives that increase traffic or sales.
  • Own successful delivery of large, high impact product initiatives while simultaneously tracking a set of smaller projects.
  • Continuously improve the team’s delivery experience. Establish and drive adoption of PM best practices. Share and advocate your program management knowledge.
  • Mentor Junior PMs and expose them to best practices.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively to executive management on plans, status and critical issues. Escalate urgent issues appropriately and drive them to closure in a timely manner.
  • Lead a team of engineers, helping them with career goals, continuing education, and problem solving.
  • Get your hands dirty and dig in to the code when appropriate.



  • At least 2 years of experience as a technical program/project/product manager in software/web development organizations.
  • Strong technical acumen. Actively participate and contribute to technical design discussions, proactively identify challenges and risks, working closely with engineers addressing challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience to influence, develop productive working relationships across an organization.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Strong sense of ownership.
  • Solid understanding of product development methodologies (agile/scrum), and apply them appropriately. But you focus on results and outcome, not just process.


Nice to haves

  • PM or Agile certifications (PMP, Scrum Alliance, CSM, etc)

  • Enterprise experience
